Our purpose at Habs Junior School is to offers girls an academically outstanding education filled with awe and wonder that prepares them for their journey to the Senior School. We aim to prepare our pupils for lives and careers which will demand a strong moral compass, resilience, empathy, the ability to create solutions and to lead. We instil a genuine love of learning within the classroom, encouraging curiosity and ambition which leads to academic excellence. Our school values of Ambition, Curiosity, Courage and Community are at the heart of all we do at Habs and these values are presented to the girls the moment they walk through our doors.
Our curriculum is dynamic and ambitious, providing the students with exciting yet meaningful experiences in the classroom and beyond. We encourage everyone to take risks, investigate and explore, helping to instil a genuine love of learning and sense of curiosity. We seek to develop and nurture well-rounded individuals who are academically ambitious, while also sharing a passion for sport, music and the arts. Outside of the classroom, we offer an outstanding outdoor learning experience. We are fortunate to have our own Forest School, outdoor tipi and Wildwood den, where our trained professionals encourage our students to engage in hands-on activities that promote teamwork, problem-solving and resilience.
Pastoral care is at the heart of all we do, we endeavour to ensure that every girl is well known and cared for. We teach our girls to care for one another and understand the role they play within our richly diverse community. We know that girls perform best when we work in partnership, this is why we truly value working alongside you, as parents. We hold a range of events for our parent community – year groups breakfasts, Family Fridays and a range of performances and sport events.
Whilst the girls are taught in a single-sex environment, we are fortunate to be situated on a co-educational campus, which allows for frequent collaboration with Habs’ Boys Prep and Pre-Prep School. From Planetarium trips to lunchtime music concerts, we create opportunities for friendship and learning in a supportive and safe environment.
By instilling a genuine love of learning, with exceptional pastoral care and a broad co-curricular programme, we equip our girls to move on to the next stages in their educational journey prepared to make a profound impact in the world.
