Habs Junior School is a nurturing learning environment where everything we do is rooted in our four core values: ambition, curiosity, courage, and community.

In Year 1 and Year 2, we strive to inspire and encourage every child to develop a love of learning. Our opportunities are broad and exciting, extending far beyond the classroom through our fantastic Forest School curriculum, which promotes exploration, independence, and confidence in the great outdoors.

The timetable in Year 1 and Year 2

Children in Year 1 and Year 2 wear full school uniform and benefit from a dedicated drop-off lane in front of the Senior School. The school day begins when the whistle is blown at 8:35 am, but you are welcome to drop your child off any time after 8:00 am in the Junior School Playground.

Across the week, Year 1 and 2 pupils are taught by specialist teachers for the following subjects:

  • Specialist subject specific teaching – throughout the week
  • PE lessons – twice a week
  • Swimming lessons – every week
  • Performing Arts lessons – every week
