Learning is ambitious and challenging in Sixth Form, which also makes it exciting and varied.
You can expect an outstanding education and should achieve excellent exam results.

You will notice a global perspective to all of your learning, encouraging a deep sense of responsibility for a world you can expect to lead in, succeed in and have a profound impact on. Discover more about life in our Sixth Form.

How you will learn

Our students learn independently as well as together. Meaning you will take responsibility for your study in ways that will serve you well at university.

You will enjoy plenty of practical and problem-solving tasks involving discussion and debate. You will be empowered to take risks, investigate and explore, helping you become an enthusiastic, lifelong learner.

We will also encourage you to take part in co-curricular activities. These play a big role in developing your soft skills, such as teamwork, confidence, communication, flexibility, empathy, leadership and much more.

Your A Level subjects

To join our Sixth Form, you will need nine GCSEs including Mathematics and English. The grades you need in particular subjects are listed on our admissions page.

You can choose to study three or four A Level subjects over two years. At least one of these will be taught in a mixed-gender class with students from Habs Boys. You can select your A Level subjects from:

The Habs Diploma

Add an extra dimension to your university application by working towards the Habs Diploma, soon to be accredited by the University of Buckingham.

On top of your A Level study, the diploma comprises a subject enhancement course in your chosen area of study, along with six elective courses, a visiting speaker programme, community service and an extended research project.

The diploma’s material and activities have been carefully designed to develop skills which will be of huge benefit at university and in life across a wide range of work, social and other settings.

  • We arrange an exciting, rewarding programme of trips, visits, speakers and experience days.
  • We arrange residential trips within the UK and beyond, some relevant to the curriculum and others supporting co-curricular or leisure interests.

I loved the Sixth Form at Habs – the combination of teaching and learning, and the interaction with the school community, was amazing
