Following an impressive year for Habs Girls, including our recognition as Independent School of the Year 2025, we are delighted to celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2026.

Today, we congratulate every student on their GCSE results.

The Class of 2026 has achieved impressive GCSE outcomes, with outstanding performance at the very highest grades. 45% of all GCSE grades awarded were 9, while 73% of all GCSE grades awarded were 9-8. At least 80% of grades were either 9 or 8 in Drama, English Language, French, History, Maths and Music and 56% of the cohort scored at least eight 9s or 8s. These outcomes have given students an excellent foundation for further study.

Subject highlights included Drama, where 92% of grades were 9-8, English Language, where 86% of grades were 9-8, History, where 60% of grades were awarded at grade 9 and Maths, where 86% of grades were 9-8.

These outcomes are the culmination of years of commitment, determination and academic ambition.

They reflect the dedication of our students, the support of their families and the expertise and encouragement of our staff.

However, examination results tell only part of the story.

Every GCSE result represents an individual journey. Behind every grade is a student who has developed confidence, resilience, independence and self-belief.

At Habs Girls, we believe education should equip young people not only with knowledge and qualifications, but with the skills, character and mindset to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Throughout their time at school, students have learned how to think critically, communicate effectively, embrace challenge and contribute positively to their communities.

These qualities are developed through the Habs Habits and underpin both academic success and personal growth.

The next chapter

For most students, today’s results mark the beginning of an exciting new phase as they progress into Habs Sixth Form.

Here they will specialise in subjects they are passionate about while benefiting from an education that combines academic excellence with leadership, service, enrichment and personal development.

Through the Habs Diploma, students are encouraged to broaden their horizons, deepen their understanding of the world around them and develop the skills required for future success.

Students will also have the opportunity to undertake either the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) or Extended Research Project (ERP), developing the intellectual curiosity and independent thinking that are so highly valued by universities and employers.

Our co-educational Sixth Form model provides students with access to specialist teaching, expanded subject choice and the benefits of collaboration across both schools, offering the very best of both worlds.

Looking ahead

While today’s achievements deserve celebration, we are equally excited about what comes next.

The Class of 2026 enters Sixth Form with strong academic foundations, growing independence and a wealth of opportunities ahead of them.

The Habs Diploma

Alongside their academic achievements, students will have the opportunity to participate in the Habs Diploma as they progress into Sixth Form, a programme designed to extend learning beyond the classroom and help develop the knowledge, skills and habits that support success throughout life.

Through leadership, service, enrichment, innovation and independent research, students will be encouraged to broaden their horizons, deepen their understanding of the world around them and explore their interests in greater depth.

As part of the Diploma, students will also have the opportunity to undertake either the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) or the Extended Research Project (ERP), further developing the intellectual curiosity, critical thinking and independent enquiry that are highly valued by universities and employers.
