This Easter break saw students across the Junior and Senior Schools take part in a range of enriching trips, each offering powerful opportunities for learning, personal growth and connection beyond the classroom. From international travel and cultural immersion to sport and teamwork.
Our Junior School sports tour was a vibrant blend of physical challenge, teamwork and discovery. Across netball and football fixtures, training sessions and friendly matches, pupils showed impressive determination, leadership and collaboration, supporting one another on and off the pitch.
Alongside sport, students broadened their horizons through visits to the Alameda Wildlife Conservation Park and the iconic Rock of Gibraltar. Learning about conservation, geography and history first hand encouraged curiosity and critical thinking, while shared experiences strengthened friendships and team spirit. The tour concluded with medals for all, a celebration not just of performance, but of effort, attitude and growth.
Our Senior School ski trip to San Sicario, Italy was a week filled with challenge, progress and unforgettable shared experiences. Students faced a wide range of conditions on the slopes, from strong winds and icy runs to fresh snowfall, requiring resilience, risk taking and a willingness to keep improving. Across ability groups, students pushed themselves to tackle more demanding terrain, developing confidence and technical skills day by day.
Beyond skiing, evenings were marked by strong community spirit, with talent shows, quizzes and shared traditions bringing the group together. Whether persevering after a fall or supporting one another on the slopes, students demonstrated determination, collaboration and care throughout the trip.
Our Year 10 Spanish trip to Granada offered a rich and immersive cultural experience. Staying with host families, students were encouraged to step outside their comfort zones, showing open mindedness, curiosity and initiative as they communicated in Spanish and embraced a new way of life.
Highlights included visiting the Alhambra, learning flamenco dancing, exploring the historic Albaicín and completing interactive language tasks in local markets. Students also visited a Spanish Secondary School and took part in educational activities at the science museum. Throughout the trip, pupils demonstrated confidence, adaptability and respect, applying their language skills in authentic contexts and deepening their understanding of Spanish culture.
Learning that lasts
Together, these trips highlight the power of experiential learning. Students returned with new skills, wider perspectives and lasting memories — having developed resilience, confidence and independence in real world settings. Whether on the sports field, in a Spanish city, or on the slopes, each experience reinforced our Habs Habits and the belief that education extends far beyond the classroom.
