This term, we were delighted to offer an exceptional programme of educational trips that brought learning to life beyond the classroom. These experiences have given our students the chance to engage deeply with subjects they have studied, to explore new places and cultures and to develop confidence, independence and a love of learning.

We ran our first ever joint diving trip to Indonesia. In Bunaken Marine Park, students had the opportunity to swim beside spectacular coral walls and to observe marine life in one of the world’s most beautiful underwater environments.

Our Year 10 to Upper Sixth students enjoyed an exciting and culturally rich visit to Japan. In Tokyo, they experienced the energy of one of the world’s greatest cities, before taking a cable car up to Mount Komagatake. In Kyoto, students visited a number of UNESCO World Heritage sites, including the Temple of the Golden Pavilion, the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest and Kiyomizu Temple, deepening their understanding of Japanese history, culture and architecture.

In Berlin, our students explored pivotal moments in German and European history. Visits to the Brandenburg Gate, the remains of the Berlin Wall and Checkpoint Charlie brought modern history into focus and provided meaningful context for their studies.

Our French language students put their skills into practice with a visit to the Opal Coast. They confidently navigated a local market, engaged with native speakers and sampled French delicacies, including escargot, all of which supported their language learning in real-life settings.

Our Sixth Formers enjoyed a trip to the Theatre Royal Haymarket to watch Othello. This theatre visit complimented their Theology and Philosophy students, offering live performance as a powerful means to explore complex themes and ethical questions.

We are extremely proud of all our students for the enthusiasm they showed on these trips and the way in which they represented the school. These experiences have not only complemented their academic studies but have also helped them to grow in confidence, resilience and global awareness.
