We are proud to share that during last year’s Pearson moderation, our art department received high praise from the examiners. The moderation is a quality assurance process used by Pearson, to ensure the consistency and accuracy of marks awarded for internally assessed components of qualifications. Pearson commended our students for their “exciting and varied personal investigations”, reflecting genuine passion and a rich creative journey.
In recognition of the quality and depth of our students’ artistic abilities, several projects were selected as exemplars to support examiner and moderator training sessions. This is a wonderful endorsement of our department’s commitment to fostering meaningful art education.
Art plays a vital role in child development, contributing far beyond just creativity. Through art, our students enhance their creativity and imagination, improve fine motor skills, and find a valuable outlet for emotional expression. Artistic activities stimulate critical thinking and problem-solving, boost confidence, and encourage communication and cultural awareness. It is a key component of why creativity is one of our core values at Habs. Our department’s approach nurtures not only artistic skills but also the intellectual, emotional, and social growth of every child.
Congratulations to our teaching staff and our students for their impressive work and creativity!
