On Wednesday 2 November, Habs Girls was excited to welcome London Pulse Super league player and England Netball athlete Halimat Adio.
Halimat is a current member of the London Pulse Squad, she has previously co-captained the squad and is an England Netball Athlete, she was selected in the England U21 Squad, and has represented her country at a Senior Level. The defender has been involved in the Netball Super league since she was 17, playing regularly in the London Pulse Squad since 2020.
Halimat led four sessions for our U13 to U19 Netball squads. We started the day with the U15’s, followed by the U14’s and our Sport Scholars experienced a session focused on defence. During Wednesday Senior Games afternoon the U16 and U19 netball squads took a session focused on space denial and worked on developing their defensive skills. At the end of an exciting day the U13 Netball squad worked on a range of passing and movement skills during their co-curricular session after school
Both students and staff thoroughly enjoyed the day, Halimat was inspirational for all year groups, and we are very grateful for the opportunity to have her visit Habs. We look forward to watching the London Pulse team in action as a school on Saturday 25 February vs Manchester Thunder!
