Ten Sixth Form students from both the Habs Girls’ and Boys’ Schools took part in the annual Hispanic Theatre Festival, held at NLCS, where they competed against several other schools.
Our students performed ‘Hay Una Sopa en Mi Mosca’ by Fabián Sevilla, a clever and light-hearted play centred around comedic misunderstandings and witty wordplay. The plot follows the chaos that unfolds when a fly lands in a bowl of soup, sparking a series of humorous interactions and unexpected turns.
The performances were judged by a distinguished panel that included representatives from the Spanish Embassy, Fitzwilliam College at Cambridge University, a former BBC radio producer, and a representative from the Instituto Cervantes.
The festival featured several awards, including Best Performance, Best Interpretation, and the coveted Audience Choice Award. We are pleased to share that our students earned the audience choice award for their engaging and well-executed performance. The competition was tough, making their win even more noteworthy.
