Sixth Form student invited to Fitzwilliam History Essay prize ceremony

Well done to Maddie (L6LC) who was invited to attend the Fitzwilliam History Essay prize ceremony before term ended. Having been challenged to write on an event in 1869, the year Fitzwilliam was established, Maddie wrote about the struggle of opening the Suez Canal in 1869, titled: Oh, what a night: mid-November 1869. The Old, the New and the Opening of the Suez Canal.

During the afternoon, Maddie was treated to afternoon tea and the opportunity to speak with the history tutors.
