A number of Sixth Form students and a handful of lucking members of staff recently visited Soho Place, the first new West End theatre in 50 years, for a special performance of Death of England: Closing Time. The theatre is owned by Old Haberdasher, Nica Burns, a multi-award-winning producer and a true inspiration for the students.
The group enjoyed Death of England: Closing Time, the third instalment in the critically acclaimed Death of England trilogy, featuring extraordinary performances by Sharon Duncan-Brewer and Erin Doherty. One student described the production as “powerful stuff and hugely impressive performances” reflecting the impact of the intense and meaningful storytelling.
Nica Burns, who has produced over 100 shows and was awarded an OBE for her contributions to theatre, provided the students with an inspiring example of alumni success in the arts. The students were not only inspired by the extraordinary play but also by the legacy of an Old Haberdasher who has made a profound impact on the arts. A truly fantastic experience for everyone!
