
Our Lower 4 Chemistry club has been busy exploring the art and science of egg marbling.
Using already hard-boiled eggs as their canvas, participants gently cracked the shell before applying drops of dye onto the surface which diffused through the eggshell. The phenomenon allowed vibrant hues to permeate into the egg, forming intricate marble patterns which were revealed after participants carefully removed the whole shell.

The club discovered that some dyes created more pigmented colours, resulting in a rainbow of eggs both bold and subtle. Overall, the club had a great time combining chemistry and art to create some stunning results.
