The U14 athletics team repeated their score from the first round of the Herts league with another convincing victory against some strong opposition in Sir John Lawes School from Harpenden, Berkhamsted, Highgate and Watford Boys.
There were wins in 9 out of the 14 events with the performance of the night going to Jeevan Bhullar, the team captain, who broke the school record with a 25.0sec win in the 200m. Zamaan Dudhia added 30cms to his best in the pole vault winning with a height of 2.70m and he is now just 10cms away from the league record. Rohan Oyewole threw 34.88m to win the javelin by some 18 meters. Other winners were Haroui Fang (100m), Ben Bellman (300m), Tolu Elesin (800m), Jacob Steinberg (shot) and Henry Mattey (discus). The team finished the meet with a 3 sec margin in winning the 4 x 100m relay. A great performance, in very windy conditions.
Habs currently lead the league table after two rounds but have stronger opposition to face in the coming weeks.
