Although Habs Boys are all academic high-performers, we place great emphasis on activities beyond the classroom.

We offer a wealth of opportunities for them to pursue their interests and develop new ones. This not only peaks their interests, gives them a taste of success and encourages fun. It further develops their character, teaching them to be interested and interesting.

Performance Music

Music at Habs is outstanding. With our extensive ensemble lineup, students have the opportunity to develop their musicality, whatever the genre. From ensembles large and small, to professional and beginner, we cater for the very best musical talent and those who are just starting out. Our orchestras, bands, choirs and other chamber groups regularly perform in school and public performance, with a number of students performing with leading national ensembles.

Performance Drama

Drama is truly different at Habs. We avoid the dated approach of ‘school plays’ and instead give a fresh perspective on what theatre, drama and film can be. Students play an integral part in all facets of our productions with roles for everyone, both front and back of house. Added to performance roles, students can also lead and support productions as stage manager, set designer, playwright, lighting or sound technician, costume designer, make-up artist, prop-maker or video designer.

Clubs and activities

Our clubs and societies inspire students to pursue a broad range of interests, often creating and leading their own clubs as they share their passions and expertise with peers. We have nearly 100 different clubs and societies, from Debating to Chess, Bridge to VEX Robotics, Code-Breaking, Safe-Cracking, Airfix modelling, Model United Nations and so much more.
