Although Habs Boys’ history stretches back to 1690, the school has only been in its current location for around 120 years, since 1903.
Situated in the leafy, idyllic Hertfordshire countryside, just outside of London, we share our wonderful campus with our sister school, Habs Girls.
We are surrounded by agricultural fields, just a stone’s throw from London Elstree Aerodrome (where some of our students learn to fly). Nevertheless, we are only 3.5 miles from Junction 5 off the M1.
We are very fortunate to occupy 104 acres of beautiful green-belt countryside close to Elstree in Hertfordshire. This allows us to endlessly develop and curate our indoor and outdoor spaces for the benefit of our students.
Our school buildings are surrounded by wide-open spaces and playing fields on two sides, with dense woodland on the remaining two. Several small lakes and streams enhance the environment, with plentiful parking available.
Our grounds feature many sports fields, play areas, our Forest School, Wildwood Den, Lime Walk and Rain Garden, plus more nature spaces just waiting to be explored.
These spaces lend themselves perfectly to our outdoor education and Forest School.
At the heart of Habs Boys is Aldenham House, a Grade II-listed building dating back to 1672. Other buildings, old and new, are clustered around it. The Bourne Building, for example, is home to our library and largest assembly hall, as well as multiple classrooms.
Notable built spaces on the Habs Boys’ side of the campus include:
Habs Boys hosts a number of performance spaces, whether it be for music performances or drama.

If coming by rail, you can get a train from St Pancras in London to either Elstree and Borehamwood Station or Radlett Station, then take a taxi from there. Respectively, we are just an eight to ten minute taxi ride from these stations.
If coming by London Underground, you can take either the Northern Line to Edgware Station or Jubilee Line to Stanmore Station, then take a taxi from there.
