Habs Boys is a wonderful environment for learning. Yet going out into the world brings an exciting new perspective, whether exploring the local countryside or heading on an overseas adventure.

We run a busy trip schedule for our Senior School students, further enhancing their academic and personal development. This page gives some examples of prior excursions, but your child will receive full details on all trips planned in their academic year.

Day trips

We run a number of day trips to broaden your child’s educational horizons, enhancing their experience. These have included art trips to galleries, political trips to Parliament, geography field trips to the coast, theatre trips and conferences in Law, Psychology, English, Theology and Physics.

Residential trips

Many of our residential trips focus on the curriculum, such as languages, biology field trips and visits to historical sites. Yet there are cultural, sporting and leisure excursions too, with all trips chaperoned.

Some trips stay fairly close to home in the UK and Europe, while others may take students as far as Africa, Asia, or North America.

Examples of past trips

  • Field trips – such as History excursions in Paris, Berlin, New York and Washington; Physics at CERN; Geography in Iceland; and Classics in Greece
  • Language exchanges – such as to Spain, Germany, Latvia and France
  • Skills development – debating, D&T and MUN, for instance
  • Trips to places of historical importance – including battlefields in Normandy, the French Revolution in Paris and political sites in New York and Washington
  • Music tours – to Italy, Spain and Germany
  • Sports tours – including hockey tours to Bath, swimming tours to Croatia, water polo tours to Belgium, rugby visits to Bath and Biarritz and cricket trips to Dubai, Malaysia and Sri Lanka
  • Leisure trips – such as skiing in the Alps, scuba-diving in Indonesia and golf in Spain
  • Duke of Edinburgh trips – helping students towards their awards
  • Combined Cadet Force (CCF) trips – including training camps, expeditions, field trips and sailing
