The boys taking Art from GCSE to A-Level were extremely fortunate to visit the Tate Britain and Tate Modern on Sunday the 8th of March. Accompanied and led by teachers, Mr Keenleyside, Ms Bird, Mr Todhunter and Ms Gleeson, the boys initiated their visit in the Tate Britain. It was here they started their preliminary studies to aid their exam books. Artists such as JMW Turner were the the focus of many boys work and it was important for the students to gain an insight into different artist’s process.

Afterwards the boys had the opportunity to capture some of the amazing London scenery via the Tate river boat service the teachers had organised.

When we reached the Tate Modern we were fortunate enough to view some more amazing work. The boys took full advantage of the Tate’s exhibitions and found links with artists work to further their studies.

This trip was essential to further the student’s exam development and thanks must go to the teachers who enabled the boys to participate in this exciting day out.
