The Under 20 athletics team opened the first meet of the Summer term with the narrowest of victories in the senior Watford and District championships by 1 point ahead of Watford Boys Grammar. The closest race of the day was the final event, the 4x100m relay contested by the leading  two schools in the competition with the Grammar school just edging out Habs on a dip finish over the line.

Max Marmor secured the only Habs win in the 200m but with a number of very good second places from Miguel Perera (110m H and HJ),  Eddie Mort (800m and Javelin), Joshua Agyemang (Discus) and Sam Fenn (1500m) it meant that going into the relay Watford Boys needed to secure the win and Habs finish two places behind in order for the trophy to go to Watford. The fine performance by the Habs team with a storming 3rd leg run from Miguel  Perera meant we were competitive to the line, the second place enough to return the  trophy to Elstree for the 11th time in the last 15 meetings…………….and a new school record for Miguel Perera in the 110m Hurdles!
