HABS Junior Cross Country runners started the season with some solid team performances at the Bedfordia event. With over 30 teams finishing in each age group and 6 runners making up the teams, the fields were big and competition was tough.

The Year 5 and 6 team from the Prep School finished in 5th place with Sam Newman the first Habs runner home in 8th place. The year 7’s packed well; Adam O’Reilly was first home for HABS in 19th but with four more runners in the top 50 the team’s total was competitive and they finished 3rd just 6 points behind Robert Bloomfield School. The year 8 team repeated the achievement in finishing 3rd led home  by an outstanding run from Daniel Greenstein who gained the 3rd individual position with a well judged race. The three teams total score placed HABS 3rd overall behind Lincroft and Robert Bloomfield.

This was a very promising start to the season, and really encouraging before the Goater Cup on Wednesday 21st January.
