Golf Tour 2020

The annual senior golf tour spent last week in Portugal enjoying fabulous sunshine and glorious golf courses.

After storm Dennis failed to stop the group getting away from Luton airport on Sunday 16 February, students and staff enjoyed a smooth journey to their base at the Hotel Ampalius in Vilamoura. After lunch at the marina, an afternoon of practice at Millenium golf range took place with the group getting to grips with fast greens and some welcome sunshine after the recent UK weather.

The four courses were all in exceptional condition, and the two new venues of Quinta do Lago South and Laranjal were excellent additions to the itinerary.

Ethan (L6) ended up as the winner of the week on 130 stableford points, narrowly edging out Sacha (Year 9) by just a single point after the latter made a final day charge.

The tour party were brought back to reality with a bump (literally!) at a grey and windswept Luton airport on Friday, and the process of planning for 2021 has already begun!
