Four boys from Haberdashers were invited to Microsoft Headquarters in Reading to take part in the Independent Schools Conference.
Rishi Hindocha (L6) spoke about the use of technology in Education, Computational Thinking and how to shape students to become the innovators of tomorrow. Three boys from Y10, James Wirth, Shanai Nair and Enuka Balasuriya set up a booth to demonstrate and talk with teachers from other Independent Schools about the robotic vacuum cleaner they built both within lessons and within Robotics club for the aim of making someone else’s life better or easier using technology.
The boys had the opportunity to have a tour of the campus at Microsoft and also had a chance to try out the new Microsoft Hololens, Microsoft’s newest venture into Mixed Reality, of which, at the moment, there are only 10 devices in the country.
The boys represented the school very well, and several guests to the conference spoke very highly of their work and how well they represented themselves.
