Congratulations to the Habs Chess A team who beat QE Barnet before the Easter break.
On 23 March, the A team played away against QE Barnet. The players were in high spirits after having two 6-0 wins against other strong opposition. After much calculation and despite facing tough opposition, boards one and six (Alex 11M1 and Avyukt 7M) were victorious. However, despite a courageous effort, boards two and four (Savin Dias and Ezzie Brass) saw their matches come to a loss.
Leo Sanitt ended with an amazing draw against a strong England Junior player and, on board four, which was played by Niall Clarke, ended in a win. This meant the final standings finished at 3.5 to 2.5, sending Habs through to the national finals!
