We are incredibly excited to release the first track from our forthcoming EP – The Video Store at the End of the World, performed by the Habs Studio Orchestra. This ensemble will headline HabsFest on Sunday 29 June, launching an album recorded at the world-famous AIR Studios earlier this year. Don’t miss this performance which promises to be a memorable occasion for our schools.

The songs on this EP were written by Sam Griffiths and Matthew Herd for our production The Video Store at the End of the World; a playful, epic and heartfelt new piece of theatre. Written by award-winning playwright James Fritz together with our company, we explored what it means to step off the precipice. To lean into our fear of the world ending and to keep living.

At Habs we put students at the centre of the creative process, making new and meaningful work that reflects their personalities and experiences. The opportunity to devise a piece of theatre, to sing original songs, to record in an industry-leading studios, and to share all this with our wider community is very special. The resulting EP is something for all to be immensely proud of and we can’t wait to release in full later this month.

In this video we give a glimpse behind-the-scenes at AIR Studios in April, alongside footage taken from the original production in December.
