Both the U14 and U16 teams secured wins in their second round fixture of the Herts athletics league at Woodside Stadium on Tuesday 3 May. They faced tough competition from Berkhamsted School, Watford Grammar School for Boys and Sir John Lawes School but with improved performances from a number of the teams from the first round, the Under14s won with 55 points and the U16s with 62 points.

Individual winners in the younger age were Jacob Haynes (100m), Jonathan Cohen (pole vault), Ben Fox (shot) Roshan Patel (high jump) and winner of the U14 performance of the meet was Daniel Ward with his 31.09m discus throw.

For the U16s there were wins for Matt Copley (200m), Henry Rocha (800m), Jamie Harper (1500m), Stefan Bontas (long jump), Luckshman Sivathasan (shot), Ollie Hocking (discus) and Rohan Oyewole (javelin). Winner of the U16 performance of the meet goes to Louis Flinn who vaulted a lifetime best of 3.60 just 20cms below the all-time league record. The U16s finished the last race of the meet with a clear win in the 4x100m relay.

Performances are now showing promise as we move toward the first round of the ESAA national competition toward the end of May.
