The annual Junior House Drama Competition took place on Tuesday 30th January in the Drama Studio, showcasing a variety of short plays written and devised by boys in each house from a number of different years. 

 

Performing to over 100 people, boys from years 7 to 9 performed a range of stories based on the theme of ‘home’. From refugees to the lives of boarding school students, the boys successfully portrayed sometimes hilarious, sometimes heartbreaking stories with genuine truth and compassion.

 

With actress Phoebe Fildes adjudicating (whose acting credits includes work with the National and Globe Theatre) the winners were decided:

Best Play – Strouts: ‘Some Guy

Best Play Runner-up – Russels: ‘The Stayers’

Best Play 2nd Runner-up – Joblings: ‘Oscar’

 

Best directors – Robbie Lazarus/Joshua Baumring-Gledhill (Meadows)

 

Best Tech/Design – Calverts

Special Award – Hendersons

 

Best Actor – Abimbola Tayo (Russells)

Best Actor Runner-up (shared) – Sam Wolffe/Felix Zombory-Moldovan (Strouts/Meadows)
