From Monday 9 November to Friday 13 November, as part of the School’s Year of the Book initiative, our Maths department ran its Book Week.
There were many fun-filled and challenging events throughout the week including codeword puzzles, tutor group competitions based on word games and an Art competition. The winning Art entry was Van Dyck’s Self-Portrait with a Sunflower by Akshi Krishnakumar in form group 9M1.
We were also delighted to welcome the prolific Mathematical author Rob Eastaway to Habs on Thursday 12 November. Mr Eastaway gave three entertaining and thought-provoking presentations to different age groups where problems involved tying ones shoes at Gatwick airport, to explaining the maths behind seemingly impossible playing card illusions.
