On Monday 28 March, the Prep School sent six pupils from each year group to compete in the Highgate Cross Country event. The pupils were beyond excited to be at the event and, after a few encouraging words from Mr Barnett, the runners were relaxed and prepared to give their best effort at the course.
It consisted of 1km laps, with Years 3 and 4 completing two and Years 5 and 6 completing three. The format of the competition, in which the top four runners all gain points towards an overall total, ensures that, regardless of where a runner finishes, trying to move up a place or two can make all the difference.
All our pupils performed courageously and with a smile on their face! The Year 4 and Year 6 team won their competition and the teams for Years 3 and 5 finished 2nd. This gave the Prep School the overall win!
Well done to all those who participated and a special thank you to Mrs Adat for her work on the Prep HabsDash.
