Prep Second Canopy for Learning Outside the Classroom

Today we see the second canopy installation at Haberdashers’ to support our Learning Outside the Classroom. Some of the Prep boys were keen to see the construction and were able to see the engineering behing the canopy, and hear about the process underpinning the installation, and ask questions. The boys looked at how the canopy was held in place, how the holes were drilled for the poles, and the angles that they needed to check, using a spirit level. They looked at the ropes holding the structure in place and were able to see how they were put in place. We had some thoughtul questions put to the company assisting us, School Outdoor Learning, which they were keen to answer for the boys, to assist their understanding.
