Last weekend, the Senior Cadets of the Royal Navy Section demonstrated their metal when undertaking a hike in the snowy Bedfordshire countryside.
The cadets from U6 & L6 covered four routes in the area, finishing in Ampthill Country Park. The exercise was a training event to prepare them for their March Field Day Expedition where they will be leading teams of younger cadets on a night hike and camping overnight in the Park. The snow did not dampen their spirits. In fact it gave them a chance to relax outdoors and enjoy the camaraderie of their fellow cadets.
My thanks go to LtCdr Hardman and SLt Gauntlett for giving up their Sunday and accompanying the cadets and I on this little adventure. We are all really looking forward to Field Day and having the whole RN Section camping out together.
