Each year, the School’s Economics department takes part in an annual essay competition run by Schroders Bank, against other Haberdashers’ schools. We would like to congratulate all the boys that entered the Schroders Essay Competition as the quality of writing was excellent, without exception.

The title this year was ‘Governments are rapidly increasing their deficits and debt to support the economy. Running a government deficit is i) bad for the economy and ii) will require taxes to go up in the future.’

The School are proud of all of our students essays and want to recognise their interest in the subject of Government Deficits and the academic approach and vision seen in their submissions. Clearly a topic that is not going away any time soon!

It is therefore a huge privilege to announce that the Schroders Prize Winners from Habs this year are:

  • Jamar (U6H2)
  • Aly (U6C2)

Congratulation to all students that entered and to prize winners, Aly and Jamar, who are finalists for the overall prize which will be announced at a future event.
