The annual Habs Sports Day was held on Friday 30th June at the Woodside Stadium, Watford, to celebrate the culmination of a year of intense Inter House competition. The day was a fitting finale to the Crossman competition, with over 600 athletes taking part in over 30 events.

Meadows won the shield decisively with a sizeable majority of 283 having won at Year 8, Year 9 and Senior levels. Joblings came second with 256, winning the Year 7 and Year 10 competitions, whilst Strouts were third with 250. There were particularly impressive performances from Zamaan Dudhia in the triple jump and Jacob Haynes who excelled in the Year 8 100 metres.

The event was also a fitting end to the teaching career of Mr Steve Lowe, who retires as Prep school teacher and Head of Athletics after 25 years of outstanding service to the athletes of both the senior and preparatory schools. Mr Lowe has given countless hours towards the development of these boys over the years, bringing with him vast technical knowledge and expertise to the role of Head of Athletics. He was instrumental in organising the annual Lanzarote pre-season training camp and he continues to play an integral role in the organisation of county athletics. The school is extremely grateful for Mr Lowe`s enormous contribution and we wish him well upon his retirement.
