During the recent half-term break, on a typically sunny day in Spain’s sunniest city, Seville, 10 boys and two teachers arrived to begin a week-long Spanish exchange.
They spent a couple of days in the host school, Seville’s Europa International School, understanding the much more relaxed teaching style and participating sports. The other days were filled with excursions to central Seville, visits included the cathedral, Plaza de España, the Setas of Seville and the historic coastal town of Cádiz with football on the beach.
Life with the exchange families was very different to the UK, with paella and seafood common dishes and extremely late Spanish mealtimes proving a real shock. The weekends were spent at football matches, parties and the famous Fería de Abril festival.
