With grounds and plant species that used to have a reputation of rivalling those of Kew Gardens, HABS is one of the most diverse schools in the UK in terms of its nature. From roaming Muntjac deer in the woodland trail to herons making frequent visits to the pond, HABS has always been a home to nature.
Last month, Mr Hardman (an avid birdwatcher) was proud to announce that a blue tit was nesting in one of the bird-boxes in the school grounds, and, with a 15 month pregnancy pause, it had laid ten eggs. With the help of some of his colleagues, the camera was connected to the system for live streaming on HabsTube and in the Biology Sitting Area.
We hope that this will be the first of many more exciting attempts to connect nature to teachers and students alike.
