This summer a small detachment of Year 10 students attended an impromptu Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s award training and assessment expedition.
Starting the week off with two days of refreshing campcraft and navigation skills before putting their mettle to the test on three days of long complex navigations under the watchful eye of Dr Hobbs who acted as assessor. We are delighted to say that, on the first full expedition since the Pandemic, passes where achieved by all!
We are relaunching the Duke of Edinburgh’s award at the start of the 2022/2023 academic year. A full program of expeditions will be laid out in the early days of the Winter Term giving parents and students the opportunity to plan well ahead of time. Additionally, there will be a new weekly Q&A session for parents to ask any burning questions and assist their sons in managing their awards.
Lastly, and with much delight, we are excited to announce that this year for the first time the Boys’ and Girls’ Schools will be coming together to run joint expeditions and silver and gold levels.
