U6 German debaters reach final

On Thursday 8 March, our Upper Sixth German debating team (Ben, Joey, Franco and Josef) put in a strong performance in the semi-final of the national German debating contest held at the Goethe Institut, and came out victorious.

 

The debating skills of the Habs boys were excellent, and their German was amazing, really more university than A-level standard. Their opponents were Sevenoaks (Independent School of the Year 2018!) and they were very strong, however our boys had the edge. They will now go on to the final of the competition, which will be held on Tuesday 27 March at the British Council, London.

We really do have a bumper crop of brilliant linguists this year. They have done themselves and the School very proud.
