On the 24th May 2018, Year 10 Geography students set out to Cambridge as part of the GCSE Geography fieldwork curriculum.

The trip consisted of two sections: the morning was spent in the city centre, taking ground-floor surveys of the surrounding buildings and surveying several members of the public about their visit in Cambridge. After a quick lunch break, the boys spent the rest of the afternoon in the suburbs, mapping out land use, taking environmental surveys and drawing fieldwork sketches.

The trip was an invaluable part of the GCSE course, providing many geographical skills that cannot be taught in the classroom. Moreover, the boys thoroughly enjoyed the experience of interacting with the general public, and building foundational skills such as teamwork, time management and independent study.
