On Monday 1 July, Year 10 GCSE Drama Students took their devised children’s theatre pieces, ‘The Glabbersnott’ and ‘The Snappy Croc’ to St John’s Infant School in Radlett and performed to a rapt audience of over 100 four to six year olds.

Written by the students themselves, they were able to get creative and tune into the minds of younger pupils and construct performances that would engage a younger audience.

The students delighted their audience with inventive, physical and ensemble style story-telling with playful interactions, including asking for help (Grandma’s Footsteps style), hiding from a polar bear and encouraging them to tickle the grumpy crocodile.

It was a joyful afternoon, full of laughter and excitement and the Year 10 students clearly enjoyed the experience as much as the infants. We were thrilled to perform for the local community and look forward to many more collaborations.
