On 6th July over 100 Year 10 History students visited the RAF Museum at Hendon for an intensive day of study into the development of air power during the twentieth century, ranging from the origins of military aviation in wood and canvas craft to the first jet planes, missile technology and nuclear weapons.

The HABS History Department had designed a programme of activities, encouraging the boys to work together to gather factual information and to interpret displays, artefacts and archival materials from the museum’s collections.

The RAF Museum, practically on the School’s doorstep, is an excellent resource for historical study and we thank their staff and archivist for their help and support in making the day such a success.
