During October’s half term, a cohort of year 6 boys from the rugby A and B teams left home at 4am to catch a flight to Dublin on their annual rugby tour.

They arrived at 7:30am and in the evening they were given their rooms and had a long sleep. The next morning they trained for 2 hours in the fields outside Roganstown hotel. That afternoon saw the boys’ first match, against St Michaels Prep School. They played excellently and won both matches (A and B). The As won 4-3 and the Bs won 7-4. On Wednesday morning they trained again for 2 hours. They then had a nice quiet afternoon at the hotel spending lots of euros on the vending machine whilst watching the football in the bar.

Thursday morning was hard fitness and rugby training for 3hrs to get back up to speed. Two matches were played against Willow Park where the A team won 11-2 and B lost 7-10. In the evening the boys were able to watch more football. On Friday we were getting tired, but still had a hilarious Duck tour around Dublin. We had great fun being Vikings, singing in the ducky boat and shopping along the high street eating ice creams on a freezing day. After a busy day we eventually arrived in England, getting a lovely warm cosy cuddle from our parents.

We would like to thank Mr Lowe, Mr Harrington and Mr Thomas who took the cohort on the extremely valuable tour.
