As we ended our Autumn term, the Prep School was filled with energy, excitement and music as Year 6 took to the stage for their unforgettable production of Grease.
What unfolded was far more than a school show, it was a celebration of talent, teamwork and the seamless journey of opportunity that Habs provides from Prep through to the Senior School.
The boys in Year 6 have spent the past five months pouring their enthusiasm, dedication and creativity into this production. From the first read through to the final curtain call, they embraced new challenges, supported one another, and grew not only as performers but as confident young people. Their performances were full of humour, heart and character, polished, vibrant and bursting with personality.
Supporting them was a live band made up entirely of Senior School musicians, each one an ex Prep student. Their presence was a meaningful reminder of the continuity and community that lies at the heart of Habs.
These older students once stood exactly where our Year 6 boys stand today, and the energy, professionalism and musicality they brought to the production reflected the rich experiences they enjoyed in Prep and the way those foundations have continued to shape them.
More importantly, their willingness to return, perform, and lift up the younger pupils highlights something special: a culture of generosity, mentorship and pride that connects students across year groups. It is this blend of fun, excellence and community that defines music at Habs, and it was on full display throughout this production.
We are immensely proud of every pupil involved. The Year 6 cast shone with confidence and joy, demonstrating remarkable commitment and courage. The Senior School band added an inspiring layer to the experience, showing our younger learners what is possible as they continue their journey.
This production of Grease will undoubtedly remain one of the standout memories of Year 6 – a testament to hard work, collaboration and the exceptional opportunities that music at Habs provides.
Bravo to all involved on a truly outstanding achievement.
