32 of us went on the Barcelona trip this year. We left on Sunday 21st October very early in the morning and returned on Thursday 25th in the evening. We stayed in Hotel Neptuno in Calella, about 45 minutes north of Barcelona. Every day in Barcelona was packed full of activities: we visited iconic places like Gaudi’s La Sagrada Familia and La Pedrera, the theme park Port Aventura in Tarragona, made and ate chocolate in the Museo del chocolate and even had a go at dancing flamenco in la Masia de Tordera. The trip was a perfect balance of having fun while learning; the city of Barcelona has it all: art, history, food and amazing shopping! Even in late October the weather was great, sunny and very hot every day we were there.
It’s very difficult to pick the highlight of the trip as all the activities were great but my favourite include Camp Nou, one of the largest stadiums in the world where the best team in the world play and probably has the most expensive shop in the world. Museo del chocolate I loved as this was something very different; I am pretty sure everyone loved to make their own chocolate but preferred to eat it. Finally, Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia as this is one of the most famous landmarks in Barcelona, the architecture inside and out was just incredible and unalike to anything I have seen before.
Overall, I have thoroughly enjoyed the trip and I would love to go on the trip again if I could.
