Year 9 Pupils Learn the Magic of Stage Lighting

Our new theatre technician, Mr Hammond, recently taught the Year 9 Drama classes about the magic of stage lighting. Boys learnt about all the choices available to create meaning and effects: types of lantern, different angles, varying intensity, use of colour, ways of changing the focus and shape of the light, animating light, transitions from one lighting stage to another and styles of lighting.

They later applied what they had learnt to by creating their own lighting design for an extract from The Woman in Black.
