Amar Sanghrajka (Form 3BG) has just signed a contract with Arsenal Football Club’s Youth Academy last weekend.
Amar loves all sports and has already shown himself to be a formidable sportsman, winning the Donkin Cup two years in a row for his year group and numerous other trophies outside school. His selection in the Arsenal U9’s squad is a culmination of three years of hard work, commitment and determination which has helped him realise this achievement.
Amar signs on the dotted line under the watchful eye of Jack Wilshere
Amar has benefited immensely by being nurtured in the Habs environment, where the culture of excellence, working to one’s best ability and with high expectations of oneself, have given him the tools to realise his potential outside the classroom. We are huge advocates that sporting excellence and academic achievement complement each other.
Being exposed to an elite sporting environment at Arsenal, Amar will gain leadership, communication and teamwork skills. He will develop a ‘growth-mindset’ and learn from his mistakes and setbacks, and continue to develop in other areas. Regardless of the outcome of this footballing journey, these attributes will serve him well in any endeavours he embarks upon.
Thanks must go to Amar’s form tutor Mrs Bruce-Green and his previous class teachers (Mrs Pullen and Ms Patel) in the Pre-prep for their support and encouragement whilst maintaining a high standard in his academic studies. Thanks also to Head of the Preparatory School Miss Mercer for her continued support
throughout Amar’s journey.
Amar is, of course, at the very beginning of his footballing path, but ‘a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step’. We look forward to following Amar’s progress in the years to come!
