Every year, Habs bridge team enter the Middlesex League. It is an adult league with more experienced players, enabling the boys to develop their game further. This year, for the first time, we won division 3 of the league and secured promotion for next season.
The team, consisting of Jonathan Clark, Dylan Dissanayake and Kripa Panchagnula, playing alongside master in charge of bridge, Mr. Haring, started slowly with a heavy defeat back in October, but improved with each game and remained unbeaten for the rest of the season.
This follows success for the boys in the Schools Cup and the National Under 19 Pairs competitions. All three are involved in the England Schools squad and are vying for a place in the England team. They are looking forward to the challenge of playing in a higher division next year and there may now be an opportunity for a second team to enter the bottom division next year.
