Our first official Buddy Induction meeting took place on Wednesday 26th June.
The Directors of Buddies, Jay Batavia, Shiv Choraria, Freddie Arbuthnott and Philip Chen spoke about the role of the buddies and their importance in supporting a positive start to the year for our new students in September.
They then spoke about possible scenarios they may come across and the extensive pastoral network that Habs offers to support the needs of both our buddies and our arriving Year 7 students.
They spoke about the Board Games Club which will be running daily at lunch-time for the first half of the Autumn Term as a place to meet and also as a haven for those Year 7 students who may find the first few weeks overwhelming. Finally the buddies wrote postcards to introduce themselves to the new students which will be posted next week.
It was a very successful first meeting and I am extremely grateful to new Directors who have spent so much time preparing for this.
