At the start of the year, Year 9 pupil Oscar set himself the challenge to run 1000km in 10 months to raise money for the occasion of his Bar Mitzvah to help refugees. This is was in memory of his Great Grandmother’s 1000km journey that was made from Nazi Germany in 1938.
Oscar completed this challenge two months ahead of schedule and, due to the stamina that he had built over the course of his challenge, he decided to run a marathon with his father.
Their route, which saw them run through Dollis Valley, Hampstead, the Grand Union Canal to Lyme House and along the river to Black Friars, saw Oscar complete the challenge in 4 hours and 25 minutes on 12 September 2020.
To date, Oscar has raised £5000 for refugees. Further information can be found on his JustGiving page, click here.
Congratulations, and well done, Oscar!
