On Thursday 21 September 2017, the Computing and ICT department were delighted to welcome Tom Andrews & Jack Goss (Who has flown from Barcelona to join us) from Hewlett Packard to Habs. As the start of an ongoing collaboration, HP demonstrated their latest VR technology and allowed boys to get their hands on cutting edge equipment.
The boys were provided with the invaluable first-hand experience of the novel job simulator, which is now used in a wide range of industry training scenarios. The boys saw great potential for this technology to across a range of real-life, practical purposes within all three sciences, design technology, engineering, mechanics and more. Naturally, they are very much looking forward to building their own VR ‘sims’ or simulations over the coming months!
The School would like to thank the delegates from HP for their truly inspirational sessions and also for allowing the boys to try out such sophisticated technology. We look forward to collaborating with HP over the coming months.
