The School is delighted to announce that Erekle (11M1) has successfully passed Round 2 of the British Informatics Olympiad and has been selected as one of the four students to represent the UK in the International Informatics Olympiad.
The International Informatics Olympiad (IOI) is the most prestigious computer science competition for students aged under 19 around the world. The competition is one of five international science Olympiads held annually.
Each participating country selects a team of up to four contestants to represent their nation. The team, accompanied by a team leader and deputy leader, will compete in a two-day competition. Each contestant competes individually to maximise their score by solving three algorithmic problems within five hours. The competition would normally be held in different host countries, but this year will be virtual.
This is a fantastic achievement, with Erekle beating A Level students to represent the country. The School would like to wish him the best of luck and we hope he enjoys the experience!
