On Wednesday 6 February 2019, a number of Old Haberdashers who studied History A Level came back to the school to talk to students in Year 11, the Lower Sixth and the Upper Sixth. On small tables they met with current students and talked about their career development and ways in which the study of History had helped them in their chosen pathways. Present on the day were Old Haberdashers who have worked in finance, in education, in law, in entrepreneurship, in government and in military service.
It was a splendid occasion for former students to catch up with the school, to receive a tour of our magnificent buildings and grounds and to interact with some of our current students who are making choices about what to study. The current students found these conversations to be very beneficial and would like to thank the former students who gave of their time so generously.
Present at the event were a number of former school History teachers, including Keith Dawson, David Griffiths and Roy Sloan who led the History Department for several years and cultivated in many young men a life long love of the past and the study of History. We would like to thank Mr Llewellyn, Miss Caterer and the History Department for organising this memorable event.
