Life Drawing Club, which is open to all boys taking Art in the GCSE, AS and A Level years, gives pupils the opportunity to sketch and draw from both clothed and nude figures.
Over a period of an hour the boys may create a series of short sketches or one, more elaborate drawing. A variety of media are explored over the term, including pencil and graphite, charcoal and oil pastel.
As the pupils progress through the course some may eventually opt to paint. The process of life drawing is extremely beneficial in developing the boys’ observational skills and their understanding of line and form. These skills are transferrable and will inform their coursework generally.
